Jim Clark was Scotland’s first, and double, Formula One World Champion, Indy 500 winner and one of the greatest racing drivers of all time.  
Early in his driving for Colin Chapman owner of Team Lotus,  Clark asked why the other drivers drove so slow.  Chapman replied,  "It isnt that they're driving so so slow,  but it's just that you drive so damned fast!"
